The Challenge Total Madness Episode 6 Recap And Power Rankings

The episode opens with the elimination that began the last episode. Jay is able to recover to a degree after being checked up, and the elimination continues. However, Jay spends the next two rounds just chucking up the ball as he is being tackled by Rogan. He then seems very confused about what to do, and production takes him aside for a concussion checkup. Eventually, he is declared unable to compete and is medically disqualified.

Jay taking on Rogan.

TJ dismisses Jay, who still seems loopy from the hit. Rogan is awarded a red skull, and Dee congratulates Rogan on his victory. Back at the house, the guys seem happy he is gone. Bear, Fessy, Johnny, and Wes are talking, and Bear reveals he and Kailah have progressed into an item. Jenna tries to make a web call to Zach, but it does not go through. She talks to a friend who says Zach looked through her DMs and found something he did not appreciate and wants her to come home. Jenna leaves the room crying and talks to Nany about the situation. Nany tells her not to leave, and Zach is unreasonable. Apparently, the conversation has spread around the house as Dee, Melissa, Jenny, and Big T are also discussing the situation. Jenna is talking to Jordan and Tori about what is going on, and Tori says if she were in Jenna’s situation she would leave while Jordan says he would stay.

Some of the guys playing cards.

Elsewhere, Wes and Johnny take it upon themselves to design Kailah’s room for an ideal area for her and Bear. Johnny puts at least one picture of Kailah and her (ex?) boyfriend up on the ceiling. However, Kailah is clearly not a fan and seems to be in something of a dispute with Bear. She initially likes the setup, but upon seeing the pictures of her and Mikey P on the ceiling she is not pleased. She ends up breaking some food in anger and getting it all over the kitchen. Outside, Bear tries to comfort her, but she is not buying it, to say the least.

Jenna and Zach on a web call.

In what has turned into a bad version of Ex On The Beach, Jordan and Tori are talking about all the relationship nonsense occurring. Jordan reiterates his intention of getting Tori a Red Skull before we cut back to Jenna making another web call. Jenna and Zach are talking over a web call and Zach accuses her of not being forthright about who she is as a person. Jenna leaves and seems resigned to go home while Nany tries to dissuade her from doing so.

Wes discussing his alliance with Swaggy C and Bayleigh.

Elsewhere Wes is talking to Bayleigh and Swaggy C, and they apparently have an alliance cooked up from all being from Kansas City. Wes says neither of Johnny nor Swaggy C/Bayleigh knows about how seriously he is aligned with the other. Having multiple connections is good, but I am curious about what his endgame is in this scenario.

Jenna at the mission.

At the mission, TJ asks the cast if any of them want to quit. He grills them hard here, making Jenna look even more distraught. The mission is entitled The Fast And The Furious. Each pair will be tethered together and will have to move in opposite directions to retrieve puzzle pieces from the side of a moving rig. Once the puzzle pieces are retrieved, they have to complete it. The fastest pair will get to form the Tribunal. TJ says one guy will randomly get the opportunity to go twice, and Jordan is selected. The Teams are as follows:

Team 1 Jordan Nany

Team 2 Swaggy C Dee

Team 3 Kyle Big T

Team 4 Josh Tori

Team 5 Fessy Jenna

Team 6 Cory Mattie

Team 7 Nelson Aneesa

Team 8 Rogan Jenny

Team 9 Johnny Melissa

Team 10 Bear Kaycee

Team 11 Wes Kailah

Team 12 Jordan Bayleigh

Nelson and Aneesa during the mission.

Cool mission but took way too long. They really need to switch to more missions that have the cast competing together versus time trial style. Jordan and Nany end up winning and pick Jenna for the Tribunal. There were a few notable outbursts in the mission, with Nelson accusing Aneesa of throwing the mission as well as Bayleigh accusing Jordan. I don’t see either of them having much incentive to throw the mission, so I don’t buy it at all. It would have been much easier for Aneesa to be in the Tribunal and control whether or not she goes in, and although Jordan is a secret big-time mission thrower (Sausage Party on Free Agents, rumors of Incoming on War Of the Worlds 2 and threatened to do it at multiple points, has already said this season he didn’t try his best at certain points). The episode weirdly cuts at this point, concluding the episode.

Extra Notes

o In addition to releasing a new song, Tori and Jordan are also making masks to sell to the public. Please check it out, as each mask bought will also result in a donation of a mask to workers on the frontlines. Always great to see Challengers supporting the community in this trying time.

o Not Challenge related, but if anyone is in need of objective and useful COVID-19 news, check out Nate Duncan and Ben Taylor’s COVID Daily News podcast. Disqualified:

Jay: Poor guy. Seemed like a pretty bad concussion, he’ll hopefully be back soon and not be put in such a poor situation.

Power Rankings

23) Melissa: Good performance this mission but still has a way to climb.

22) Big T: Possible she is still a target for an early out.

21) Jenna: Her size is enough of an advantage in eliminations, but she does not seem to have the right headspace now.

20) Bear: We haven’t seen him do anything besides cause drama this season.

19) Josh: His clumsiness has returned in full force.

18) Fessy: He seems like a strong competitor but hasn’t really put it on tape yet.

17) Kailah: She performed well but the drama is often followed by being thrown in.

16) Aneesa: Great confessional reactions, and thought she handled Nelson well in their confrontation.

15) Bayleigh: She has been good competitively, but Jordan had very little incentive to throw the mission, so I think yelling at him about it could cause some unwanted drama.

14) Swaggy C: The alliance with Wes is a good job by him and Bayleigh but still a rookie with a way to go.

13) Kaycee: I’m not sure where her alliance is but she has impressed physically.

12) Nelson: Bad look yelling at Aneesa but he should have enough backing to get through.

11) Cory: Seems like his job each episode is to tell Nelson how he messed up.

10) Nany: Jumps up the rankings for the strong performance; she has performed for the most part when asked the past few seasons.

9) Kyle: He has been very quiet this season but is in a good position.

8) Mattie: Not great this episode but she is connected and hasn’t been mentioned at all.

7) Tori Deal: Seems set up to be the next person to go in and should get a good matchup.

6) Rogan: Again, I would be throwing Rogan in every time but do not see the house agreeing with me.

5) Jordan: Great job this episode but haven’t liked his political gameplay at all.

4) Wes: Not surprising he has more alliances on the go than just Dee and Johnny.

3) Dee: Not the best performance this episode but she seems pretty on top of things.

2) Johnny: Very good episode for him, seems to be in much better shape this team.

1) Jenny: She will be on top for a while here.
