The Challenge War Of The Worlds 2 Episode 15 Recap And Power Rankings
We have finally arrived at the finale for The Challenge War Of The Worlds 2, and the episode opens with Going Up The Country as we get some clips of the cast working out around the house. Leroy and Paulie are talking, and Paulie is saying Jordan and Zach have over-trained and he is peaking at just the right time (these words may just come back to bite him.)
TJ comes and announces the final. Each team is to carry a gurney that has twenty pounds of weight for each competitor on the team along a four-mile lap. Only four members may carry the gurney at a time and can only be switched at the checkpoints. You also will not be given a different gurney if yours breaks and are penalized if you interfere with your opponent’s gurney at all.
US and UK start out with the UK only a few feet ahead of the US. They arrive at the first checkpoint, entitled “Leverage Up”. Teams have to launch a catapult and land three pieces of fruit in a basket. UK is able to complete the checkpoint a tad faster than the US and get moving. The US is able to catch up though and beats them around a corner to take a small lead. However, they also drop a bag that Smashley picks up and throws onto the gurney. Not sure this will factor in at all but notable.
UK is taking the strategy of keeping the three guys on the gurney and rotating their two girls, while the US has Zach, Paulie, Leroy, and Kam on the gurney to start. Keeping players that are roughly the same size on the gurney would seem to make sense, but that isn’t really tenable with the US considering their players. US drops a ton of bags at one point and has to pick them up, letting the UK pass them again. The UK reaches the next checkpoint, entitled “Number Crunch.” Each player has a different math problem, and each player must solve their math problem in order to advance. US reaches it soon after the UK and has an opportunity to catch up. The range of difficulty of these problems is pretty extreme, with Kam’s being crazy easy; and Jordan, Rogan, and Cara’s seeming to be super difficult. Jordan actually solves his super quickly, and most of the cast doesn’t have a significant issue. It ends up being Cara, Rogan, and Dee; and Cara starts melting down before getting to zero. The US is able to start moving, Zach and Kam jump out; leaving Ninja and Cara to help carry.
Dee and Rogan are able to finally get their problems after quite a while, and the UK starts moving. Paulie starts melting down and needs to break for fifteen seconds. The UK has Dee on the gurney instead of Tori this time, and they are able to catch up. Paulie and Jordan start taunting each other back and forth, with Paulie deliberately pushing their gurney into the UK to prevent them from passing. CT gets annoyed and just shoves the US into the tree. Paulie starts yelling at his team again and has them take another break. The UK is having no such issues though, and they keep pushing. They get to the next checkpoint, entitled “Basket Balling.” Each player has three attempts to get the ball in the basket and if they miss, they have to eat a dish of insects and a grub shot. The UK blows through this checkpoint super quickly without much issue.
Dee and Tori switch off again, and the UK powers on. The US arrives at the next checkpoint and starts working through it. Their shooting form is pretty bad with Ninja being the only one to complete it. Cara is the only one who really struggles in this stage and starts melting down again while consuming the grub shot. Cara actually throws up the grub, but it still counts, and they continue. The US gurney is pretty shot, and even though they get a penalty they decide to just carry the bags. Paulie is completely dead at this point and is barely walking.
TJ stops the UK team and assesses them a ten-minute penalty for CT smashing the US gurney. CT’s not a fan of the decision, but they seem like they could use a break anyway. The US has become a disaster at this point, with Zach screaming at his team while their gurney is in tatters. Cara starts helping to move Paulie before he just falls over. Kam starts encouraging the team to just leave Paulie after it becomes clear he can barely walk, and Paulie is left fallen over as the producers start tending to him; ending the episode.
Final Predictions
The UK is clearly the dead bang favorite at this point, and it seems almost as much about who makes it through the Purge as which team wins. Kind of hoping Rogan gets purged just so the UK wins without a Brit on it, but also would like to see Leroy pick up a W after his career and how he played this season. Also, both of CT’s previous wins have come in Thailand, so maybe he has a special brand of luck there.
