The episode opens with the Tribunal from last week of Theo, Wes, and Turbo. They gather to decide the fate of Hunter, Cara Maria, and Ninja. The votes break down as Theo-Hunter, Wes-Cara Maria, and Ninja-Hunter. Theo and Turbo state their reason as voting for Hunter as he is significantly injured, which to me makes little sense as if he is in last and injured it would be better to keep him around as he wouldn’t be much of a threat. Hunter takes Ninja into elimination with him on the basis that Cara is a Vet so he’d rather have her around, and the elimination is set.

The Tribunal for the episode.

The elimination is entitled Taking Tiny For a Walk and has the competitors hang onto a rope being drug by a truck with whoever holds onto it the longest winning. Kind of a strange elimination, I’m not really sure what made it so difficult and it wasn’t clear what was going on other than Ninja and Hunter walking. Hunter is looking awful though, and eventually the pain from the cramps he has endured become too much and he gives in. Ninja returns, and we have whittled the cast down to five.

The finalists emerge from the pain locker in the morning and see TJ awaiting them for the next part of the final. TJ has three circles, each with a letter in it and announces the next step will be Trivia. Whoever survives the longest in Trivia will get to advance one mile in a dune buggy. The first question asks what country the cities Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata are in, with the responses being Bangladesh, India, or Spain. Everyone picks India except for Ninja, who selects Bangladesh. The next question asks what the largest river in the world is, with the possible responses being the Amazon, the Nile, or the Mississippi. Everyone picks Amazon except for Cara who picks the Nile. I thought this one was confusing because while the Nile is the LONGEST river in the world, the Amazon discharges the most water, so it really depends on your definition of largest. TJ announces the answer as the Nile, giving Cara Maria the victory and a mile head start.

The set-up for the Trivia portion.

However, Cara gets to a point after a mile where she has to wait for another person to arrive to play a game of “Battle Ball” with her, which is essentially a game of Connect Four. The runners on the dunes are in the order of Turbo, Theo, Ninja, and Wes. Turbo gets to Battle Ball first and beats Cara. Theo is next, and also beats her in connect four as Ninja arrives. Ninja also wins, leaving Cara waiting for Wes. Cara finally wins a round and beats Wes. Wes gets a time penalty, while Cara runs ahead. However, Turbo has set up an eating mission for everyone up ahead. Since he was first to arrive, he got to set out the food for everybody in the eating portion, giving none for himself, significant portions for Wes and Theo, and smaller portions for Cara Maria and Ninja.

The eating portion of the final.

They start eating the food, and Cara powers through it really quickly. Wes and Ninja seem to struggle a bit more though, with them moving through it much more slowly. Theo finishes it as well, while Wes ends up keeling over on the side after eating the food. Wes is looking really bad, but eventually is able to power through and finish, and starts trying to catch up to everybody else. Up ahead, Turbo comes tumbling down that last dune to finish the first stage of the second leg of the final. Cara comes soon behind, getting second in the stage. Theo, Ninja, and Wes follow in that order.

The final five start racing to the kayaks.

The five competitors gather in the pain locker and move on to the next stage. This stage has the competitors running towards a set of four kayaks, which have to be unlocked in order to be used. They then have to paddle around to a boat rig which will end the stage. The numbers for the lock are displayed as the competitors run down the beach. Ninja and Cara Maria are calculating the numbers in the sand as they go. Turbo gets his kayak right away and starts paddling. Wes is doing the math as he goes, and he gets his kayak right away and is right behind Turbo. Theo can’t get the lock and has to run back to go through the numbers again. Ninja gets her lock as well, leaving it down to Theo and Cara Maria for the last kayak.

Wes on the kayak.

Wes is having some trouble navigating on the kayak, but Turbo calls him over to help direct him. Theo and Cara Maria are going head to head on the locks, and Cara has to go back through the locks. Theo is finally able to get the lock undone, purging out Cara Maria and finishing the kayaks leg.

The final run to the finish.

The final leg is set, with Turbo, Wes, Theo, and Ninja as the final four. It is just a sprint to the lighthouse, but everyone is hurting like crazy. Theo finishes first, with Turbo a few steps behind him. Ninja is right behind them, with Wes in last. This stage didn’t seem that long, but a decent end to a crazy final.

TJ as he reads the final placings for the mission.

We then come to where TJ will announce the final placings. Ninja ends up in fourth place, winning no money. Wes gets third place, taking $50,000. Theo is in second, winning $200,000. This leaves Turabi “Turbo” Camkiran, winning $750,000.
